Emergency Kernel Update Complete
Hey everyone,
You may have noticed a brief moment of downtime (~1 minute) just now. We performed an emergency kernel update in response to a newly disclosed Linux vulnerability (CVE-2026-31431, rated high severity).
What happened
Our hosting provider notified us of a privilege escalation vulnerability affecting Linux servers. We immediately verified that the vulnerable component was never active on our system, applied the mitigation, and rebooted onto the patched kernel.
Impact to you
- Scrapline was not compromised, the vulnerable module was never loaded on our server
- No user data was affected
- Total downtime was under 60 seconds
- All services (bots, dashboard, music) are fully operational
What we did
- Blocked the vulnerable kernel module from ever loading
- Backed up all databases
- Applied the patched kernel (5.15.0-177)
- Verified all services restored successfully
We take security seriously and act on disclosures immediately.. Even if its 12am on a Sunday. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out in the support channel.
Thanks for trusting Scrapline with your community.
